Trump last week, failed to repeal and replace Obama Care
The Republicans’ failed last week to repeal and replace Obamacare and hand Trump a key victory in his presidency’s first 100 days.
Republican leaders in the House pulled their plan to repeal and replace Obamacare from the floor on Friday afternoon once it became clear that it did not have the votes needed to pass.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Donald Trump true to form suggested that this was simply all part of “his plan”. “You’ve all heard my speeches,” he said. “I never said ‘repeal it and replace it within 64 days.’ I have a long time. But I want to have a great health care bill and plan—and we will and it will happen.”
But sound bites from Mr.Trumps previous speeches reveal all the times he promised that repealing and replacing Obamacare would be a quick and painless process, one that he would get to as soon as he was in office.
Because Mr.Trump did not say the exact number of days when they would actually replace Obamacare, he does not believe his wording “we will immediately repeal and replace Obama Care” should have made anyone think he was actually going to do exactly that right now?.
