Police in Michigan have another device for unlocking phones: 3D printing. As per another report from Flash Forward creator Rose Eveleth, law implementation officers approached an educator at Michigan State earlier this year to duplicate a murder victim’s fingerprint from a prerecorded scan. Once made, the 3D model would be utilized to make a false fingerprint, which could be utilized to open the telephone.
