On the 60th day of Donald Trumps young presidency came the hardest truth, that he was wrong
James B. Comey, the FBI director testified under oath Monday what many Americans had already officially expected, that Mr.Trump had falsely accused President Obama of wiretapping his headquarters during last year’s campaign.
Mr.Trump had asserted this lie as a fact and then kept repeating it, and then he went on to say that he would present evidence that would prove his telling the truth.
But at Mondays hearing of the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Comey said there was no such evidence.
Trump’s claim, first made in a series of tweets on March 4:
This tweets above are said to have been made by Mr.Trump at a time when he was feeling under attack and left to the consequences of the unwarranted actions his taken in his young administration.
Comey did not stop there. He also confirmed openly that the FBI was investigating possible collusion between Trump campaign officials and associates with Russia, part of an extraordinary effort by an enemy to influence the result of the 2016 U.S. election in Trump’s favor.
