Kyemah Mcentyre, FIERCE!
Kyemah Mcentyre, look out for this lady, doing amazing things in the fashion and Art world!
I first saw Kyemah on an episode of FABLife. She actually designed her own prom dress, and what a stunner it is! With beautiful colorful African print it got the attention of many and even went viral. The dress also caught the attention of Tyrah Banks who i think shines a light on so many unique individuals. Kyemah’s prom dress had Tyrah in so much awe and she invited her on her show FABlife, Tyrah also had Kyemah design her a dress. She also designed Naturi Naughton’s dress for the 2015 BET Awards. When she saw Naturi walking the dress at the BET carpet, Kyemah describes how she could not breathe, it was such an amazing moment to see her design walk on the carpet and for Naturi to say her name when describing who designed her dress, that was HUGE for her!.
What actually inspired the African print was her going natural, i guess there’s something about going natural and feeling like you connecting with Mamma Africa. What inspired Kyemah to get into fashion, was her trying to separate herself from others, she is big on being an individual and a person embracing who they are fully.
Eighteen years of age,She is from East Orange, NJ. She is currently at Parsons, a school for design. She describes herself as “extremely analytical and observant.” She believes that by getting out of one’s comfort zone, by interacting with the world, one is able to be creative, “My abilities as an artist allows me to experience the benefits that versatility fosters. Being exposed to all kinds of people and cultures is the muse for my artwork. I am an artist who is very passionate about the connection between art and the world. I believe that in order for society to gain a wider horizon, we have to be willing to acknowledge people for their differences, beliefs, morals, and values,” Kyemah said..
Young but wise some of the things that Kyemah goes by is learning to live in the moment, she explains, “Success is great but you need to slow down and enjoy what is going on right now.”
Kyemah recently appeared on Project Junior (2016) proving that her star is destined to shine even brighter.
