Abraham Attah was named best male lead actor for Beast of No Nation, at the 31st Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday.
The F.I.S awards celebrate the best of independent film.
Earlier in the night, Idris Elba brought the young actor from Ghana up with him to share his best supporting male actor award for Beast of No Nation. “I couldn’t have done it without you,” Elba told Attah.
Only 15 years old, born in Ghana, Attah made his film debut in “Beast of No Nation(2015).” He played a leading role, a child soldier named “Agu.”
Attah has also been awarded the Marcello Mastroianni’s best young actor award at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival.
